100% correct Southie. Guy is a narcissist, smarted man in the room who only wants to hire his loser cronies. He wanted to keep Patricia and Judge but smart owner Kraft said no to Patricia and had him bring back OBrien When Obrien wanted to bring in his own offensive team, BB said no. Guy is 10 games below .500 and 0 playoff wins in NE w/o Tom and sucked azz in Cleveland to get fired there. Guys is a fraud and is the Wizard of Foxborough, has got exposed

The keep getting richer because they spend wisely and buy only the best. They don't go to Goodwill looking for a CNC 5-Axis milling machine or a tuxedo for an important meeting.

They don't waste draft choices either.
I believe Cleveland is on their 5 QB this season with Flacco. Reid wins with any QB , McVay won with Goff and Stafford etc. BB has sucked ass with every QB except TB

Sorry Sonny but this is painting a brush stroke. Bill has made some great moves picks and thru FA. sure he's swung and missed as well. No GM hits on all their moves. We need to give him his due for 20 years of some pretty good teams he assembled thru wise moves.
Dont forget Pioli was the GM and BB didn't have the final drafting decision till he became GM 10 years ago or so and his picks have sucked. Only guy who moves up to draft a kicker in the draft and 2 ST specialists, how did that work out for him? Parcells on the other hand drafted Bruschi, Milloy, McGinnest, Curtis Martin, Ty Law, Ted Johnson to name a few. See any diffrence??

2023 Draft is a perfect example of BB's egotistic choices.

As early as February 2023, it was known that the two biggest needs on the New England Patriots after a disastrous 2022 season were:

1. Offensive Tackle
2. Wide Receiver

What did Bill Belichick do?

He never drafted a single OT and drafted a completely unknown WR in the 6th Round. The defensive players are Studs and he cut Speed who's starting in KC. It's as if he refuses to acknowledge anyone else's ideas or even if they are 100% correct.

  • Round 1, Pick 17 (From PIT) DEFENSE
    Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon
  • Round 2, Pick 46 DEFENSE
    Keion White, EDGE, Georgia Tech
  • Round 3, Pick 76 (From CAR) DEFENSE
    Marte Mapu, S, Sacramento State
  • Round 4, Pick 107 (From LAR) G/C
    Jake Andrews, G, Troy
  • Round 4, Pick 112 (From NYJ) KICKER
    Chad Ryland, K, Maryland
  • Round 4, Pick 117 G
    Sidy Sow, OL, Eastern Michigan
  • Round 5, Pick 144 G
    Antonio Mafi, OL, UCLA
  • Round 6, Pick 187 (From CAR) FINALLY
    Kayshon Boutte, WR, LSU
  • Round 6, Pick 192
    Bryce Baringer, P, Michigan St.
  • Round 6, Pick 210*
    Demario Douglas, WR, Liberty
  • Round 6, Pick 214
    Ameer Speed, CB, Michigan State
  • Round 7, Pick 245 (From BUF via ATL)
    Isaiah Bolden, CB, Jackson State
I'm sorry, but Bill Belichick is so self-centered that he knowingly hurt the chance of this team being competitive by not drafting for "the good of the team". Instead he drafted to show that he knows quality defensive players. He fears screwing the pooch drafting WRs because he's always failed. Stop saying that he drafted Tom Brady. Dick Rebogh(sp?) the QB Coach told bill that he'd quit if he didn't take him after six full rounds had gone by and Bill knew he wasn't joking. Brady was not the pick that BB was going to make. Sadly, the man died a year later. If BB had his way, Bledsoe would have been the QB until 2005 or 2006. There would be no banners hanging in Gillette.

Bill with his measly 27 million a year shops at the Goodwill store, at least looks like it, and his draft and FA pickups are from there too like you stated.
BB wanted to dress like Paul Brown and Tom Landry. NFL said he needs to dress in NFL apparel. His response is to dress in the rattiest apparel he can find/mutilate.

There was one OL taken in the 1st round after NEs selection. Gonzo was the steal of the draft. Prior to his injury he was ranked higher than any OLmen.

People quickly forget how frustrating it was watch NEs DBs getting beat the year prior.

Did we all want OL help? I think the answer for most is yes. With the top OL gone Gonzo was the right choice. If BB went WR and whiffed again you would all be crucifying him. None of us know how BB and company had any of those players ranked. Should he have moved back and passed on Gonzo?

The Offensive players selected after 17 have been serviceable. No pro bowlers.

Give credit where credit is due.
