13-23, 141 yards, no touchdowns, 1 interception, 1 lost fumble, 56.6 passer rating. Those are Peyton Manning's numbers in the Super Bowl, a game Denver won by two touchdowns.

I don't care if Siemian will be seeing his first action, I think he can do a little better than that. With the crowd behind them, the defense should be able to get great jumps on the snap count, as they did against the Patriots last year. And Denver's defense is still really, really good.

So give me the Broncos to win this one, something like 23-13.

My concern is the Panthers have no book on Seimian for game planning purposes. I do look for a heavy dose of running and stellar D from Denver. I also look for us to have a better plan to protect Cam. We will have a better compliment of offensive weapons with Benjamin back and our run game is in a better place. While we won't have Josh Norman, our rooks are showing well and I expect the Broncos to be run heavy and fairly vanilla in the passing game. Our run defense is stout.
Panthers win 17 - 12

I think both SB participants come back to the pack this year. But to different degrees.

In this one...I look for a lower scoring game. I think CAR will do a little better job of play calling, they have their WR1 playing and will win a close one 20-17.

I suspect they could have Oprah out there at QB in any game where the defense pretty much gets 14 points by itself.

I have to believe this. It would be miserable to wait all off season only to realize your QB situation sucks so no winning this year.

The best part of this game (for Broncos fans at least) is that even if the Panthers win, a regular season win will not make up for a Super Bowl loss. The "revenge" aspect is simply not there because the only way to actually get revenge for a Super Bowl loss is to win a Super Bowl against the same team. The likelihood of both teams repeating a conference title...very small, though I guess I shouldn't rule it out.

With that said, I am picking the Broncos over the Panthers to the tune of 24-17. No revenge this week. Not even a sniff of it.
