I rarely miss a game, especially playoff games, but fuck NBC for putting this on Peacock. I refused to watch in the hopes that NBC isn't encouraged to pull this shit in the future.
It was replayed at 9:00 and I did not watch that either - even for free.

then theres this tidbit :suds:

It's a massive bet for Peacock and parent company Comcast (CMCSA) , which also owns NBC. The company reportedly paid $110 million just to air this playoff game.

just like disney owns espn/abc

I miss the days when I subscribed to DirecTV and for whatever reasons, they gave me the entire NFL Ticket package for free. This lasted about 6 or 7 years, can't remember the exact dates, but all I know is a few years back, they suddenly stopped offerering it for free, and I was shocked at what they told me was the cost, something like $400. I said thanks, but no thanks and promptly dropped DirectTV.
I had the SAME thing. Finally dumped them. I got Sunday Ticket for $100 this year (student discount).

I paid the $6. I wasn't going to but I broke down right before the game. They're also exclusively streaming The Holdovers which we were going to go see at the theater anyway, so even though it wasn't much of a game it's worth it for a month.

I’ve had them for a year. They have a lot of content and lots of sporting events. I think it’s worth it.

It's only a matter of time before the NFL goes to some sort of a Pay-per-view format for premium games, because they know they've got the people who will pay for it and the ones who are "Outraged" and want to "Boycott" will be back the next week.

They've got us by the balls and they know it.

Maybe. I'm not so sure it's inevitable. I think NFL viewing will drop dramatically if that happens and the NFL may decide that's counter to their plans..

I remember when the NBA tried that back in the day and it failed miserably, and look at the state of boxing… Personally I’ll never pay for cable again, I’m done with it … As far as streaming services, meh, I have Netflix and that’s it, and even that I can live without … NFL gets so much TV revenue from commercials and viewers, that was always enough, just kinda getting sick of the greed… It’s never enough…
We have Prime and Netflix. If we sign up for anything else it has to be something that has the right bang for our money.

Doesn't the cable companies/streaming companies get the revenues from commercials and that is why they pay the NFL for the right to broadcast it?
I would say yes… So you pay for streaming and you still watch commercials

I go to Tucson annually and my buddy got it for last night...good news is tonight's game is on Peacock too...so there's that. I got it a couple years ago for the Olympics...but after that totally forgot about it

I watched that movie today. Between the KC game and that movie alone, it would have been worth it if I would have had to sign up for a month.
