NBA draft tonight at 7. Green is projected anywhere from late 1st to mid 2nd round pick. I think 2nd round is likely. Also, Adrian Wojnarowski (probably the best NBA reporter there is) tweeted this out today:

That would be an absolutely fabulous team for him to land on. They're outstanding at developing players with late round picks.

Yes, playing for Popovic and being Tony Parker's understudy would be perfect for Green. The Spurs have drafted foreign players with an astounding 60% of their picks since 2001. Don't be shocked if we are waiting on EG's name and we hear something like Darko Bratislavich instead.

I am really hoping EG sneaks into the first round and that guaranteed contract, and I'd give him better than 50-50 odds on that at this point.

:L And the Spurs officially make it 15 of their last 25 draft picks from outside the United States.

As a CO resident and Denver fan, I'm quite ok with this. We got $$ out of it from Utah too.

46th overall (2nd Round) to Denver. For those who don't follow the NBA, since he's a 2nd rounder it means he doesn't have a guaranteed contract. He's going to have to make Denver's roster. However, that's a pretty good spot for him. They could use a young backup PG for Ty Lawson and Green is a player I see their new coach (Brian Shaw) taking a liking to.

Don't forget about Andre miller being on the squad as well. But they wouldn't have drafted him and traded for him they didnt have plans of him making the team.

Sidenote: assuming he makes the team...
Would be a nuggets jersey, weed is legal there, and his last name is green. Will sell a lot of jerseys for sure

Go Erick Green! Maybe I'll actually watch some NBA if he gets playing time.

Figured he wouldn't make the roster after Denver picked up Nate Robinson and Randy Foye. That's a bummer because I feel he could be a solid rotation player for a team. But at least it sounds like Denver will keep tabs on him. So if he balls out in Italy, chances are he'll make their team next year.

yeah, sounds like the Nuggets will likely have a couple guard spots open up next year. We'll have to see what moves/drafts they make, and how EG plays in Italy.
