What's the deal with Boateng and Muntari getting sent home for Ghana? Probably favors the US - seems suspicious.

Boateng had used "vulgar verbal insults targeted at coach Kwesi Appiah" and said Muntari was guilty of an "unprovoked physical attack on an executive committee member".

but what isnt suspicious about Ghana at world cups? ie previous match fixing accusations

there was talk Ghana would not even play today until the Ghanaian football federation delivered 3 million dollars

On Wednesday, the national government sent in excess of $3m (£1.8m) in a chartered plane to Brazil to pay the squad following their threat to boycott their final group match against Portugal if they did not receive their money.

Alright...looking good for US so far. 0-0 after 45 and Portugal was up 1-0 last I heard.

Gotta go. U-S-A! U-S-A!

Not a bad first half by any means. Germany had some chances but that is to be expected. I think the US needs to be careful not to be caught up too much (Johnson, Jones). Gonzalez has been solid so far, I hope playing on a yellow in the second half doesn't temper his play.

Now get some shots on goal in the second half.

Weather seems to be benefiting the US so far. Several chances in that first half for Germany that don't connect because the ball isn't moving as quickly. Muller lost footing on a good chance too.

it seemed like a good idea at the time i guess ??? :noidea:

John Boye, the Ghana player who logged the own goal, was photographed earlier today kissing his bonus money.

I don't think Klinsmann liked how Davis gave up that corner kick, and now he gets subbed off.
