Hahah, I was thinking of Brooks. Really though, if a kid lives on a military base it's little America. I don't blame him a bit either...cracking into the US lineup is a *bit* easier than cracking into Germany's.

yah im joking but the Julian Green inclusion kind of makes me wonder about the convenience factor of it all ... he left the states for germany when he was 2 with his mother and i dont think he had much contact with his father thereafter

on the espn "March to Brazil" show Green seemed REALLY out of place. You could see it on his face. Probably many reasons for that other than the fact hes more Kraut than Yank (he replaced Landon Donovan, hes a kid)

anyhoo ... Fox gets the next world cup ... Faux News should have a field day with this lol

When the USA face Joachim Löw’s side in Recife on Thursday it will not just be Klinsmann who will sing both anthems.

Midfielder Jermaine Jones, born in Frankfurt, has confirmed that he will do so also while Fabian Johnson (Munich), Timmy Chandler (Frankfurt), John Brooks (Berlin) and Julian Green (born in Tampa but who moved to Germany when he was two) could also follow suit

I'm a bit worried about the Germany game. The Portugal game really exposed a weakness in dealing with crossed balls through the air, a strength of the Germans. Hopefully the back four effort vs Ghana and not the one vs. Portugal shows up to play that day.

Either way, I'll take a draw and put us through. Likely that would mean a Belgian team that would give us trouble in the knockout round. And if that happens, and I'm Belgian, I put crosses in to Lukaku all day long.

Dammit, would have loved to see Spain sent of 0-3 in the group stage.

This Cameroon-Brazil game is pretty darn open. Cameroon has looked pretty composed. Their D on the Brazil goal was lax at best, but they stuck with it and got an equalizer.

Brazil leads Cameroon 2-1
Mexico and Croatia nil-nil at halftime (all Mexico needs is a draw to advance)

I'm sorry, but if refs don't have the stones to call hand ball in the penalty area, then they shouldn't be officiating in the first place. Mexico just got robbed.

Not to mention that just prior to the blatant hand ball, Javier Hernandez was fouled in the penalty area. That foul could be debated as to whether or not it should have been called, but no debate at all on the hand ball in the box.

Well, maybe some justice as Mexico just scored on a beautiful corner kick and header.

So long as she's paid her taxes she should be alright.

Nervous about this final game for the U.S. on Thursday.

Definitely going to be taking a LONG lunch that day.
