I think Bradley was better this game than the first. He was more hit or miss, where the first game he was just miss.

I think the team overall played better, they had much more offensive pressure. It's unfortunate that they decided to let up late in stoppage time. I thought they should have parked nine on the top of the box.

That's not really saying much. He didn't take any accountability after the game for his fuck up either. Guy sounded like Joe Thornton. I hope Bradley's ass is planted on the bench against Germany. He's not a leader and it shows in big games.

On a positive note, the US controlled that game, were clearly the better team. First goal was a fluke, just a costly error and then the tying goal was everyone sleepwalking. In between those 2 goals however the US got way more chances, had good possession, didn't really allow many scoring chances. Eliminate the dumb plays and they can hang with some high quality teams.

I'm not entirely convinced though, because you could take practically that entire assessment and reverse it for the Ghana game, which the US didn't deserve to win.

They've left themselves in a tough position though for sure, with only a +1 goal differential getting ready to face a German squad that has something to play for.

Biscotto = an italian cookie (singular) (biscotti - plural); also, when two teams agree to draw a match if it's mutually beneficial.

If they don't move on Bradleys missed chance will come back to haunt them for a long time.

And just think Donovan was probably saying to himself...."I wouldn't have missed that".

Maybe it's just me, but Tim Howard seems to be avoiding a lot of heat and he didn't have the best of games yesterday in the American goal...

They've also got their own reputation to play for. That draw vs. Ghana raised a lot of questions so they've got something to prove.

yah ... reputation lol

One of the worse incidents of cooking things up between two teams occurred in the 1982 World Cup.

West Germany had been stunned in the group stage by Algeria.

Germany played Austria in the final game. The only result that could prevent Algeria from becoming the first African nation to move into the second round of a World Cup was a 1-0 German victory. West Germany and Austria would then both go through.

The Germans scored in the first 10 minutes of the game. Both team basically stood around for the other 80 minutes.

It was one of the most disgusting exhibitions ever seen in the game.

I think it gets overlooked after the few big saves he made late.

That first goal he gave up not sure what he was doing on that? Did he slip?
Then the tying goal the defense was sleepwalking but so was he.

Didn't Denmark and Sweden play to a 2-2 tie to knock out Italy in a Euro tourney (I think it was 2004).

On the first goal, it looked like he got over quickly and expected the quick shot, and when he noticed the shot hadn't come yet, he lost his balance. On the tying goal, once he decided not to play the pass, he was dead in the water. His only chance would have been to get hit in the chest with it.

Yes. One of my favourite moments in soccer history. Italy scored to win their game late only to find out that the other game had just been tied. Elation to tears in seconds. Sweet Italian tears.
