No, it's highly likely that regardless of their game thursday, both US and Germany are going through. If they draw, they both go through. Whomever wins takes the group. The loser will be praying for Portugal to win by a goal or two. If Ghana wins, then it gets worrisome.

Also would depend on just how badly the loser loses in US v. Germany. If the US gets beat up pretty bad like Germany did to Portugal, even a 1 goal win by Ghana or Portugal could be enough.

Not necessarily.

The US and Germany are most likely to go through.

If they draw, they are both through.

If Portugal/Ghana draw, Germany and USA are both through.

If USA loses, the winner of Ghana Portugal would have to overtake goal differential for the USA to be eliminated. The USA has a +1 GD, Ghana -1, Portugal -4. Germany is +4, meaning they are probably through win lose or draw.

The USA will be rooting for a draw or win vs. Germany and for a draw in the other game or Portugal to win.
