Yes, and it was really good. It was nice to hear the music that was so silmarillion to the original. Where's the title sequence though?!? They could have used a new version of the same song with the map as it exists in this world. You don't just bury one of the best and most exciting title sequences of all time (though I know pilots often don't have them and they are then added to later episodes).

I generally detest prequels ('gee... I wonder if Obi-Wan will be killed in this scene years before the original movie!'), but I think the lesson here is if you go back far enough in the world then it's still interesting and you get the nostalgia of the created universe without the silly fan service moments to familiar characters.

Condal and Sapochnik told ET the House of Dragon theme song and opening credits will be unveiled for the first time in episode 2, explaining “it was a creative choice,” to leave them out of the series premiere.

That makes sense. Fingers crossed for the original theme song mixed with CHiPs style freeze frames of action sequences.
