Is Pele available?

/What, this isn't 1978?

Although Pele is a bit too big a name for the hipster soccer fans in the area. They'd prefer to go with a Beckenbauer jersey.

Kris Boyd: Kenny Miller's most valuable spell at Rangers could be his next one if club can lure striker back to Glasgow - Daily Record

And he says the 33-year-old’s mind is made up on a return to Scotland to finish off his career – despite his club, Vancouver Whitecaps, yesterday issuing a hands-off warning.

Boyd said: “Kenny’s made his decision and he wants to come back home.

“It’s a brave decision from Rangers and a brave decision from him to go back for a third time.

Why do I keep hearing from Lenarduzzi that Miller is going to stay with the Caps? Is he in denial?

because he's under contract with the caps and rangers apparently cant participate in the transfer market because they went into "administration"

It would be easy to say just let him go back and sit and not play but thats not a very good sign to future dps on how you treat players ... however Miller is being a p.o.s. so letting him rot is warranted

Canadian Soccer News - Plenty of surprises on CanWNT roster for USA "rematch"

:scratch::noidea::confused2:

The biggest, most mind-boggling surprise, though, is Rachel Quon. The 22-year-old fullback was born in the USA, raised in the USA, went to school in the USA, and has represented the USA at the U17, U20 and U23 levels. Her connection to Canada is, as of this writing, unclear -- but hopefully Herdman will provide some more insight.

Rising American star Rachel Quon has been asked to join the Canadian women's soccer team for a friendly against the United States in June.

Coach John Herdman says she has a family connection that allows her to play for Canada and has accepted the invitation, although FIFA must still grant final approval.

Quon is a defender with the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women's Soccer League and also plays with the United States under-23 team.

Canada named its roster Wednesday for the June 2 friendly and, as expected, veterans play a major role.

Striker Melissa Tancredi returns for the first time since the 2012 Olympics and joins 13 other members of that bronze-winning team.

Good to see Pepe Tancredi is ready to stomp on some Yanks :heh:

Safe to say that Germany feels about soccer like Canada feels about hockey?

Caught the 2nd half of the Champs league in the stadium and the crowd was great. The friendly between Man City and Chelsea was as entertaining a game as you could ask for, 5-3 finish, mostly a Chelsea crowd but everyone was in a great mood, plenty of joking and respect both ways. Love sporting events like that.

I feel equal parts shame (for Italian soccer federation inviting Psy to play at the half of the Coppa italia yesterday) and pride (for the fans booing him mercilessly after the song) for Italy this morning
