on this day in 1971, Alice Cooper released the album Love it to Death
Eighteen was the biggest hit from the album, but I always liked this one

Happy 89th birthday to Quincy Jones - Most will associate this with the Austin Powers movies, but we Canadians know this was also the theme for the Definition game show where a grand champion was sent home with a Brother© typewriter :D

Quincy also did a fair bit of work producing some albums for one Michael Jackson.

I was never a huge KISS fan, but this was a pretty solid album

opened up with a great song.

My brother told me (he thinks it was ‘72) he went to see Bob Seger and Kiss was the opener and were unknown at the time.

Were they using the name KISS or Wicked Lester?

:D
I had to look it up. I totally remembered this wrong. It was ‘76 and Seger opened for Kiss.

Don’t get old kids, the mind goes first.

hell of a combo.

I saw Iron Maiden once, and Waysted was supposed to open up but they got stuck at the border (drugs, i assume)
Bon Jovi were in town recording Slippery When Wet, so they filled in.

the metal crowd was somewhere between apathetic and hostile.
I thought they were pretty good - they previewed some of the songs off of that album
main takeaway, it was refreshing to see a rock musician smile when they performed. they always had looked to serious / angry
Also, it was almost the end of Jon Bon Jovi. he climbed up the wall of speakers, and came pretty close to biting it.

I saw KISS on the Crazy Nights tour, they weren't in make-up for that era.
I think Anthrax opened
