Brett Lawrie blames the Toronto turf for his injuries - No doubt real grass won't have the same strain on the body as the artificial turf, but maybe Brett should lay off the juice and do a little stretching...

There are some parts of playing on turf that are more likely to lead to injury (no natural "give" like there is in grass), but a broken finger and an oblique injury aren't from the turf, buddy.

The turf also isn't responsible for his ragey attitude either

Wasn't Lawrie the one who was engaged to Sydney Leroux and they broke it off because Lawrie was super needy?

Some interesting non-tendered players. I'd love for the Mets to take a look at Wesley Wright for the bullpen and I think Medlen would be a great gamble for a team that needs pitching depth.

If Beachy and Medlen can stay healthy, those would be two great gambles - if the Phillies had any sense of how to run an organization, those would be two guys they would go after

Also, lol at John Mayberry Jr

For the Pirates, Blanks, Cabrera, Sanchez, and Smoak are interesting bats to target as bench guys or depth, and Medlen and Carroll would be reasonable depth rotation additions, with Ondrusek and interesting guy for the bullpen.

I'd take Medlen. Seems like a good candidate for the Ray Searage finishing school.

and (as has probably been mentioned about 672 times), with all that room in foul ball territory at the sewage plant in Oakland, he wont be running into camera wells anymore :noidea:

I think the article I read was her perspective, and she was too focused on his career to follow her own. Something like that.

I think it's a low-risk high-reward move for them though - he's got all the tools and it probably will help them go out and get some pitching help because of the money saved

Last year, Puig did this and the baseball world was aghast, agog, and some idiots wanted him deported. Werth does it, and I've yet to hear a note of outrage.
