crazy day yesterday in Vancouver, Fraser valley and in Calgary

Vancouver (I was one block away just before this happened)

Vancouver police shot an armed man in a Kingsway apartment building, and then discovered a slain woman in a suite — with an injured child.

abbotsford

It was a scary situation in Abbotsford this morning, after a woman called 9-1-1 to say she had been stabbed by a man who grabbed her 18-month old baby and fled.

Abbotsford police say it happened around 9am in the 2700 block of Blackham Drive.

The 23-year-old woman was treated for multiple stab wounds.

A 24-year-old man, who the victim claims is the father of her child from a former relationship, was arrested a short time later after being found hiding in a backyard.

Abbotsford police says the baby was recovered unharmed.

A suspect is in custody after five people, all youths in their teens to 20s, died following early-morning stabbings in northwest Calgary.
