Do you remember the guy at the swamp who had the handle thelizardking? I think he was a Penguins fan as well.
Actually I avoided most of the swamp outside the penguin board, so unfortunately no.

The gimmick smashy stuff was lame, but I thought some of his standup was actually pretty good.

Oh no, which one? Him or his brother Gallagher?
If that did not make sense - I think the story was Gallagher's brother was in financial trouble and Gallagher was having surgery so he taught his brother the act so he could tour while Gallagher was recuperating. He was supposed to tour as Gallagher Too! and stop when Gallagher was better. Gallagher Too! decided not to stop and realized he could draw more without the Too! so he dropped that. Then the two brothers sued each other. Nice stuff.

Not my cup of tea, but unless there is a influence I am unaware of, he came up with something pretty different that a lot of people liked in the late 70s and 80s.
