Mercurochrome was water based so it didn't sting nearly as bad as Merthiolate did. You prayed your mother had mercurochrome

I read someplace that its decent as a disinfectant but the bubbles fool people into thinking its great.

Great for cleaning glass surfaces also.

Really good for blood removal too.
