There has been talk of bringing everyone back in to the office in my company. I had to go in today and to discourage it I brought my acoustic guitar and "played" it all day on breaks annoying the half staff that was there.

I should say I don't really play guitar, the only song I "know" is "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" by Cyndi Lauper. After playing it 19 times I think management is rethinking their decision.

god i hope not... From some contacts I am hearing some higher ups want us back fulltime. From others hearing some say never or a hybrid. I think they are at least waiting until fall and the predicted next wave.

I spoke to a recruiter that is just listening for what companies are making everyone go back into the office and hitting their employees up on LinkedIn. He said it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

I can understand why. In my situation you cannot really praise the amount of work being done for the passed two plus years, tell everyone the company has not missed a beat since going remote, and already tell some departments they are never coming back - then tell everyone else they have to because umm some VPs want everyone back.

I wish I knew the long term plans, that might affect my ongoing job search. I know I might have to, but I really do not want to be spending 2+ hours in my care everyday.

He was. I really liked him in Tremors, Road Trip, The Player, and The Right Stuff. But he was good in many many other roles both comedy and drama. RIP

The grocery store I went to today was playing an old American top 40. Casey was telling a story about the Stones playing the LA Forum which he described as "the arena where the Lakers play basketball and the Kings kind of play hockey".
Judging from the songs on the list (Horse With No Name) it would have been a time when the Kings were not good

This is going to sound creepy, but what a glorious time we live in when skin tight workout shorts are acceptable attire for women at the grocery store......

There was a woman yesterday wearing that who seemed to be enjoying Casey Kasem playing in the store. So as I passed her I said "You like Casey huh? Want to come to my car to listen to outtakes of Casey losing his mind when he has to do a long distance dedication about a dead dog after an uptempo number?"

She paused, took two small earbuds out and replied "who the fuck is Casey? No grandpa I don't want to go to your car, I assume a Chevy Impala, and listen to another old man talk about a dead dog".

I smiled and moved on. All in all a good shopping trip. 4 out 5 stars.
