In my opinion anything done in my house beyond simple cleaning falls on me. If anything breaks, needs maintenance, or anything seasonal needs to be done - I do it or arrange to have it done or it does not get done*. So when the dishwasher seems to have stopped working and I was involved with several other things - my wife stepped up and said dont worry, she will take care of it. And she did - she called a repairman, set up an appointment at a time when she would be at work. And leaving me to wait for him, hang out with him as he works, work myself, and occupy the dog so he does not bard or cry the whole time.

Ahh, its nice when someone else takes charge and I can just relax.





*I firmly believe that though my wife would disagree.

Fun fact - the last homicide in Baltimore in 2021 was of a person who at 11:43 said "See you next year!". And the first homicide of 2022 was of a person who at 12:07 said "I haven't seen you all year!"

at the time they made To Sir, With Love, Columbia was reluctant to spend money on the film, as they weren't sure how a black lead actor would do at the box office.
Poitier wanted to make the film, so took a small up front fee ($30k) and 10% of the gross.
it worked out pretty well for Mr. Poitier, as the film grossed $42 million (not bad for 1967 dollars)
