This sounds weird but this might help some of you. When I "gas up" my car I have been filling it with a 3rd of a tank of regular, a 3rd with Plus, and a third with premium - and the results have been really promising. Not the combined 70mpg I hoped for but I I'm getting about 10mpg more than when I was just using one grade. The fuel technician / cashier Brian cannot explain it either but did let me in on discount coffee program the station has. Good kid that Brian, young ladies - latch onto him. He is going places. He promised to ask up the chain how the different grades are affecting my mileage. Just when I thought he was just trying to get rid of me he correctly "surmised" that I wanted a Little Trees Air freshener in the Sunset Beach scent. He even installed it when I coundnt figure it out. Good kid, that Brian. Always looks like he is fighting back tears when I talk to him, almost like he is questioning his choices in life that brought him to the point of dealing with me - but it's probably just allergies. I "topped off" my tank this morning but I'll swing by on the way home to catch him before he punches out to see if management got back to him about my inquiry. I'm going to ask him to explain torque too, high school physics is long in my past.
