It’s not new news - most automakers have either slowed or halted production in the last few months because of a lack of chips. My aunt works at Ford’s Oakville Assembly and she’s worked three weeks since January.

Global shipping’s a nightmare right now because of a lack of container availability.

And all of the ports have major backups with container ships sitting off shore from ports for a couple weeks waiting to dock and unload.

Speaking of cars and me being an off road junkie as soon as they get this ironed out (IE..never buy 1st year production) this might be my next purchase.

Yup. A lot of Asian ports are understaffed like hell so even when they do find enough empty cans to send to a port they're floating for weeks waiting to get unloaded and onto trucks/trains to producers.

I feel so sorry for people in other countries.

A coworker was told a shot for her mother would cost $2000*. Knowing that my wife works at a pharmacy I was asked to find out how much her location would charge. At cost for the shot for my wife's workplace is $1305 so the total may end up being $2000 from her place too. She still has family in Europe that need the same meds and found out they pay 50 euros for it. lol, losers. USA USA!

when my mother in law was ill with cancer, she spent well over a month in hospital.
total out of pocket cost was about $300 for one of the medicines that wasn't 100% covered.

Nice country you have there comrade.

At this point I will never expect truly affordable healthcare here. At least it is better for me now than it was in the early 2000s. My premiums doubled or more every single year for about 5 years.

I know a lot of the argument against socialized medicine there is that the money you don’t pay in taxes more than covers whatever you do have to end up paying down the road but with the insane hike in drug prices I’m not sure that’s entirely true anymore even for people with good insurance plans given the premium rises.
