Speaking of guys not getting along, Gord Miller apparently got Dave Portnoy's knickers in a bunch. Here's the thing for me - If you have a problem with Gord Miller, then the problem is likely you, Gord Miller is one of the nicest people you will likely meet in this world.

I was quite surprised (and impressed) at Miller's stance.
Normally that would be something a network guy would just avoid having a public opinion on.

/back story, Miller just tweeted a response to a question saying that he would not go on anything Barstool related.

then some details

The whole thing started with Gord answering a question on Twitter saying he wouldn't go on Spitting Chiclets despite liking the guys hosting it because "anything associated with Barstool is a no go" for him. Which, okay, definitely a good opinion to have. Many share it, myself included.

But as crappy an operation as Barstool is I still find both of Gord's current employers much more abhorrent, particularly his Canadian employers for pretty recent actions that cost thousands their jobs during a pandemic and economic recession, employers who I'm quite certain pay him a quite handsome seven-figure salary to follow a puck on a sheet of ice and describe events happening around said puck.

I guess I just see attacking one corporate culture while profiting immensely from a much worse corporate culture doesn't really leave you in a good chair from which to participate in the culture wars.

I was quite surprised (and impressed) at Miller's stance.

Was fully expecting him to tell people that they should apologize to barstool and that barstool should keep doing what theyre doing

that whole "locker room bro" thing was tiresome in high school
imagine making it your credo for life. ugh.
Funny thing to me is I realized like 6 months (if that) after leaving high school how much better the world is once you leave that place/mindset. People who tend to get stuck there are the ones who evidently act like this. There's a lot of them out there, apparently.

That's bad enough, but these fuckers have made it into a money-making venture too.

There are generations of them. On my son's school hockey team, there was an alpha-bro in the room. My son couldn't stand him. His dad was just as much a jackass. Then, his grandpa showed up at the after Christmas tourney and he was even worse.

This almost looks fake to me, the eye in particular. I know it's not:

It’s not new news - most automakers have either slowed or halted production in the last few months because of a lack of chips. My aunt works at Ford’s Oakville Assembly and she’s worked three weeks since January.

Global shipping’s a nightmare right now because of a lack of container availability.

I hadn't heard about it, yet.

Seems like an odd thing to run out of / lose production for due to COVID to me.
