Stance: Goofy
Obama would've won the WH both times without Ohio. Bush wouldn't have either time without Ohio.
They would need to vote non-crazy at least 3 more times to make up for giving The Decider the White House twice.
To be fair, a lot of places in bad recession fell for GW's crap the first go-round. Then the second, it was blind patriotism combined with Kerry/Edwards being as exciting as a colonoscopy.
Can't say for sure they (we) will vote non-crazy this time. But they (we) do vote rather individually. Ohio is very moderate and kind of unpredictable. For example, the liberals wanted legalized marijuana. Most moderates did too. It was polling at like 70% support. Then Kasich wrote the law and it had a monopoly for a campaign donor to supply the pot, it got voted down really badly.
The Mayor of Columbus, a democrat, got beaten pretty badly on the Arena deal (buying it from Nationwide with taxpayer dollars without putting it to a vote), and he got run out on a rail. He was a two term incumbent mayor in a big city and lost a primary.
People here seem to pay attention, and vote their conscience.
