I still stick to my 75 win prediction, but this was a fun game to watch. To bitch about the offense and one of the better pitchers in the majors during the game that the Phillies won is ridiculously gay.

Asche looks like the real deal. The thing that most impressed me about today was the patience at the plate. Six walks. Six!!! We got a little lucky that we faced a nervous rookie on Opening Day who was wild. But aside from Asche's double in the 2nd, we didn't get very many cheap hits. We squared up a ton of balls. Mayberry, Revere, Byrd, Rollins, and Asche all hit at least one ball extremely hard today.

Stop looking at spring training batting averages and get on the bandwagon before it gets crowded. The guy has good plate discipline and can get extra base hits. Unless Maikel Franco learns to fucking take a pitch now and then Asche will be the guy the Phillies are building around. Book it, slam it, rub it down!
