More Changes Coming to SJS; Will Dangle Niemi, Taking Calls on Thornton, Marleau

Sharks started their roster shake-up last week, and much more is planned. SJ will be working the lines & taking calls over the off-season



According to multiple sources, the Sharks want to get younger in goal and will dangle Antti Niemi.



Sharks also seem willing to take calls on Thornton & Marleau, but both have no-move clauses. SJ met with Marleau on Friday.



Sharks uncertain about Niemi; trying to re-sign Stalock (likely will). As far as I know, SJ does not plan on pursuing Miller this July.



Moving Niemi is not a guarantee to happen, but as per multiple sources, I'm told they will dangle him and try to get younger in net.

Nemo had a solid season last year (2013) but he is just too prone to shitting the bed in the playoffs. When he is on his game he can be one of the best goalies in the league but when he's not, he's hot garbage. This is a guy who has been benched for Niittymaki (sp?) and Stalock during the post season.

A source close to Gretzky said Monday that the 53-year-old native of Brantford, Ontario very much wants to be president of the Capitals and would consider former Columbus general manager Doug MacLean as his general manager.

However, the source said Gretzky has not had more than a few casual conversations with the Capitals and believes that if they really wanted Gretzky they would have hired him by now.

If I were the Sharks I would move Antti Niemi to Winnipeg for Tobias Enstrom - it gives the Sharks a younger puck moving d-man to replace Dan Boyle, and pair up with Vlasic - and it gives the Jets the number one goalie they need in order to finally get into the playoffs

Then I would sign Ryan Miller as a free agent and trade Joe Thornton for whatever pieces possible(not sure what his value is honestly)
