Dumping Corsi is an odd move. He's been with the team for 15+ years and has never been seen as a problem. In fact, except for a brief period where they had to bridge the gap between Hasek and Miller, goaltending has been their consistently strongest position.

Wow, if you want a quick read and probably a good laugh, check out the Mouse's front page story written by Burnside for their Stanley Cup Playoffs preview. I don't know if the author is this bad or his editors are, but man, this one is just a little bit off.

good. every coach retained on a struggling team (Maurice, Capuano, Carlyle) is one less suitor for Trotz
and good luck with Pavelec!

Maybe not. The Jets played former INXS singer Michael Hutchinson in goal at the end of the season and he looked decent. He could be what they need.

Indians scout: He's dead
Owner: Cross him off your list then.

This new jets goalie could be a new sensation

/which rhymes with auto-erotic asphyxiation :noidea:

I saw INXS live in Atlanta about a month before Hutchence took his life. Fantastic concert and a great group back in the day.

I can't stand the last few years how GM's throw their players under the bus when their team misses the playoffs or doesn't perform well - hello, it's the GM's fault for signing/bringing these players in - for example, an old and declining player that you keep way too long, how much tread did you think was left on those tires? It's a joke the way these GM's have acted the last few years - the team isn't that great because you assembled a mediocre roster and you're getting everything you expected - maybe you should have signed a better backup than Thomas freaking Greiss - maybe you shouldn't have signed Mike Ribeiro to that dumb contract - maybe you shouldn't be keeping old guys like Derek Morris when their expiration date was 2-3 years ago - maybe you should have gone out and traded for a top notch scorer that could actually score big goals for you

Tired of GM's like Don Maloney and David Poile complaining about their players when they brought these guys in - pisses me off - maybe you guys are just mediocre GM's these days - I dunno

Ribeiro was also a healthy scratch late in the season, and Maloney acknowledged the struggles.

“I don’t want to stand up here and point the finger at Mike Ribeiro,” Maloney explained. “If he’s standing up here, he’s saying the same thing. He’s disappointed in himself and in his performance. You’d think that a guy of his age or Shane Doan’s age or Derek Morris’ age would be confident. But, their confidence goes in ebbs and flows.

“I think Mike got down on himself and in his play. He got in a rut and couldn’t get out of it.”

That bolded word above contains the wrong vowel.
