That was never going to be Johnny Moore's game, and it's why you got him and not David Savard. The Jackets had plenty of smooth skating D, just not many that could hit consistently too.

I'd take Moore back in a minute though, in place of Nikitin.

Oh I know, I like Moore for his offensive potential. I know he doesn't bring that defensive side of the game to the table, but he's been learning more about the defensive side of the game, when he was injured, prior to coming back against Colorado, he spent most time conditioning on the defensive side. Which is something Del Zotto rarely did and why I was okay with him being dealt.

I just wish AV would stick with Mac and one of Diaz/Moore on the point on the PP and stop putting Girardi out there. Going to be interesting to see which Defensemen he scratches come game 1. It's going to be one of Moore/Diaz.

That all said, Emile Poirier just put together a tremendous season in the QMJHL. Can he translate that to the NHL and become a top-6 forward? Maybe the Flames can find a hidden gem with the 2nd round pick they got from Colorado for Reto Berra? It's still a little early to evaluate the returns, but as of right now, Feaster settled for a lesser package from St. Louis.
