I would like to see a definition of "substantial". Is it his definition or Wang's?
His definition = 8m
Wang's = Dinner at Arby's

Can't say we all didn't see this coming. Team is going nowhere fast, he doesn't want to be there.
I guess the only enticing thing would be to play with tavares in brooklyn, that would be kind of neat. but I think its more he just wants to be in Minnesota. I really see that happening
Nik Zherdev was released from Severstal in the KHL. From fourth overall in the NHL draft to a release and free agency in Russia.

The Montreal Canadiens have traded defenceman Raphael Diaz to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for forward Dale Weise.
In 44 games with the Canucks during the 2013-14 season, Weise has three goals and nine assists.
"A young veteran with 162 games of experience at the NHL level, Dale Weise is a winger with a physical style of play who brings additional toughness and grit to our group of forwards," said Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin.
In 46 games with the Canadiens this season, Diaz has produced 11 assists.
Minnesota is where he wants to be. Would you rather play with your best friend Pominville, along with Parise, Koivu, Suter, Coyle and others? Or have your career waste with just Tavares? lol Pretty easy choice for him to make.
Weise is actually a solid addition to the 4th line for them. With RH PMD man like Markov and Subban, it makes Diaz expandable.
Just because Diaz is expendable doesn't mean you trade him for a crappy 4th liner - defensemen are valuable in this league and you can't give them away even if you have an abundance
The Habs already have enough types of guys on the 4th line like Dale Weise - they could have gotten more

I don't think that he'd be wasting his career by staying...not at all. He and JT would light it up.
Pretty hollow apology from Torts today in Detroit, in my opinion. Listen, I know you have a long standing feud with Hartley, but you could have at least mentioned the Flames in name rather than a generic call-out to the league.
Edit: Here's the footage, you be the judge.
