Caman jstew, if Sather had the Rangers payroll, he'd win the Stanley Cup every year.

/oh wait.

It makes me wonder what Lou could do with the Rangers budget combined with playing in the "better" city

Slow the game until its hard to percieve the actual movement of players?
Have games with 6 shots to 5?

Good luck tonight!

Exactly. That's why I asked Tilo why he wasn't listed with the other Devils.

Yea he's a winner for sure, but I dont see his number being retired any where or in the HOF sadly

It's a shame Claude's antics overshadow him as a player. The guy was a stud. There's a story of him at one point calling Scott Stevens out in the lockerroom for mailing it in one game and those 2 jawing at each other, and at the end of the day Stevens said he was right to call him out and hold him accountable. You have to command some serious respect from your teammates to be willing to call out the alpha male like that.

We have to remember Claude came from a winning organization like Montreal. He was acquired to put the team over the top. He already knew how to win. I think he was a big reason why the Devils climbed the mountain. He showed them how.

That gif is great, but it also makes me long for the return of the Nordiques, the rivalry with the Habs and those uniforms were both great.

Boss, the hockey in the 70's and 80's was a lot of fun and you are dead on about the hate factor in the Adams Division. The Norris Division also had its fair share of donneybrooks and the Battle of Alberta was never as heated as it was in the 80's.

I remember some of those games were like a fucking battle. I went to many of them and the hate and energy in the building was electric. It's just not the same now and like you said the Norris had some good ones as well. I think the free agency and movement of players now has watered down the build up to real rivalries.
