Hey - I'm all for trading two equally disappointing , equally overpaid guys in the hopes that new scenery changes their fortunes.

I agree that a new change of scenery can help Dmitry Orlov but I wouldn't call him disappointing and overpaid - the one year he played full time he was very solid - I'm not sure why the Caps didn't give him more of a chance

pretty sure he was referring to Martin Erat and David Booth

Oh - I figured he was talking both Caps guys since both asked out

But eh, trading Erat for Booth is trading a pile of shit for another pile of shit

i honestly dont want either guy.

but you just know booth will pull a mason raymond next season and be better ... the guy didnt/couldnt skate all offseason and it is certainly showing ... no explosiveness at all ... he relied so much on his speed and without it right now he is nothing

yeah I know and I know that his injury is hampering him from last season. but its his attitude towards everything that drives me nuts. I just cant stand his demeanor towards the pro game like it really means so little and that drives me nuts

Booth hasn't been the same player since Mike Richards laid him out with that concussion.

Dan Murphy ‏@sportsnetmurph now Forget Heritage Classic jerseys. Erik Karlsson just strolled down the hallway in a onesie, parka, boots and toque. #boss

I think thats too easy an out

after he was traded to the canucks he had a stretch where he was producing and looked real good ... its was very shortlived though because when Kevin Porter took out his knee v the Avs it all went downhill

Perhaps, but the same thing happened to Markus Naslund after he was concussed by Steve Moore, he never regained the form he had prior to the Moore hit.

i think that was more a psychological thing in that he felt alot of guilt about what happened to his buddy Bert in the aftermath (and he said as much) ... you could tell he no longer loved the game

the advanced stats guys and PDO belivers are pretty smug right now

James Mìrtle ‏@mirtle 4m Leafs goalies had a .938 save percentage in October and .924 in November. That's difference of half a goal a game when you allow 36 shots.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a stats guy and I definitely think advanced stats are a valuable tool that can aid in making important decisions. That said, I don't think you need advanced stats to tell you that the Leafs allow way too many shots on goal and need to tighten up defensively.

Also, the Leafs might want to stay out of the sinbin:

jonasTSN1050: The Leafs have already allowed more power-play goals in 25 games this season than they did in 48 last season.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but with Wideman out for 6-8 weeks, Rusty Klesla would have been a nice waiver pickup for the Flames.
