A guy he coached for years, he lost in a matter of a season and a half in Richards. Somebody Richards looked up to, and considered a very close friend. Torts buried him here.

I'm not saying that it will be one and done, they wont do that to him, but we all know about his temper and his short leash with players. I'm not sitting here rooting for him to be fired or anything, just telling you what I saw here for years.

r u kidding???

Richards buried himself (in donuts???) by doing sweet fuck all during the lockout and arriving at shortened camp out of shape ... this is Torts fault??? Torts didnt cowtow to a "star" overpaid player who didnt have it ... and he didnt exactly throw him under the bus ... he came out publically and said he loved Richards and felt forced to bench him ... thats hono(u)rable to me

Everyone around the league saw that richards was a liability in the playoffs

Richards was fine out the gate for us and heated up towards the end of the year and was still being buried in the lineip.

wha?

this is why they wanted to buy him out?

he was hot garbage last year ... slow as fuck and unmotivated

Well, first off, you've got to again look at the fact that Richards was completely unprepared for the start of the season last year. Nobody doubts Richard’s commitment to training and keeping himself in game shape, but in hockey, there’s only so much you can do to prepare without taking the ice and participating in a real, competitive game.

Richards’ decision to stay in North America and train essentially on his own set him up for a rocky start. He was never able to recover.

After finally coming off of IR two games ago, Mike Rupp is taking a leave of absence from the Wild to attend to personal matters: The local paper reports that there has been a death in his family.

Young (age 22) Fin Erik Haula, a 7th round draft pick in '09, has been called up from Iowa & will make his NHL debut tonight vs. Colorado.

Honestly, him being bought out was more speculation by the fans and media than anything. He was working out all summer with JVR and Pacioretty to make himself be the player he once was. He came out the gate hot for us again this year, has cooled off a bit but still is our leader in goals and points right now. You can tell he's been a little better conditioned this year than last year. They knew with a new coach coming in, and offensive, uptempo style game, that he would benefit more from it.

Sharks gave up three to the Blues to make it 4-3 but Brent Burns just scored a hat trick to make it 5-3

Another huge win for the Sharks. They now are responsible for two of the Blues 4 regulation losses.

Brett Burns makes a massive difference for this team. Glad he is back.
