Reading more about Selanne, he's coming off as an old prick who couldn't come to terms with his diminishing skills.

Brett Hull will always be the role model to me of when to hang em up - took 5 games into a season for him to realize the game had passed him by.

I agree with BBB (not about Selanne being an old prick), but about players not liking their coaches. The Habs players couldn't stand Scotty Bowman, yet they won on those Stanley Cups during the 70s. Steve Shutt said the following about Scotty: "You hated him for 364 days and on the 365th day you got your Stanley Cup ring."

It's just like your boss, you don't have to like him/her and most of us probably can't stand them, but there's a distinct difference between like and respect.
