Pffft. That article doesn't even take into account the fact that he's from Michigan. Fail.

If Detroit wants to take on long, overvalued contracts on guys from Michigan...

So far the trade for Palmieri and signing Kalinin out of the KHL have paid off for the Devils. Both appear to be legit top 6 guys. Zajac returning to form and Henrique taking the next step have been huge as well. Larsson/Green as a top pair have done their job, Schneider and Cammalleri doing their usual thing, this Devils team isn't completely terrible.
They have most certainly been surprising, to say the least.

With the way certain guys have stepped up for the Devils I have to wonder if Pete DeBoer really was a problem? Larsson has taken his game to the next level since he was fired last season, Zajac looks to have found his pre-DeBoer game, Jacob Josefson who was so often a healthy scratch has been a positive contributor. Young guys are actually getting playing time instead of being healthy scratched and bounced back and forth between the minors while underachieving vets stayed in the lineup.

Pens are a fast team with really talented heads up players. So the logical best way to attack them is take out the only defenseman that can skate with them stride for stride.

I think this is likely the reason, pix...

If you look closely at that, you will see the problem. Murray's regular defensive partner, Cody Goloubef, is not there. Instead, it is Tyutin. Tyutin went looking for dinner, whereas Goloubef would have collapsed on the goal and given Conerstone Sutter another person to beat.

Yeah, Murray could have taken more body there, but he is used to an actual defenseman playing there to help. You can only ask him to be both defensemen on a play like ten times a game before he flubs one.

Huh. Seems I was wrong. Murray has *not* been the lone bright spot on D this season. In fact he has sucked tremendously and was a waste of a draft pick (We could have had Reinhart). All hail Coach pushup.

Man, I really need to learn a bit more about this Hockey Ice game you speak of. I though Johansen was unfairly attacked when in actuality he is just fat. I think Dubinsky is a hothead and a liability, when in actuality he should be captain and Nick Foligno has done nothing for this team or this city. I said Bobrovsky was just a victim of his timing being off and having to extend more than he's used to, when the truth is, he should sit because McIlhenny is capable of starting.

I wish these people would just go back to cheering for THE Acorns that are playing the football...

Ryan Murray for Kris Russell?

/I would have put in Dennis Wideman, but I don't want 43 to get all stabby again.

I was thinking more of a Ryan Murray for Patrick Wiercioch and Chris Neil. Neil blocks shots!!!

Cornerstone Sutter. I like that. Not the same ring as Sutterdong, but it's got something.

Maybe Murray is being used in trade discussions?

:peep:

A pox on you and your whole family.

Literally the ONLY defenseman they shouldn't trade. So of course...

Neil - Campbell - Boll?

I JUST HAD A TORTSGASM

And jstew, I give you credit for not working in a Ryan & Ryan - Good Western Canada Boys trade idea. I might have launched a tactical airstrike at Vancouver if you did.

Really though, what is it with coaches and young players never, ever getting the benefit of the doubt, but old slow ass veterans can do anything because...vets? It's annoying as hell, and yes Rob Scuderi I'm talking about you.
