Tangradi should be a good add for Detroit, see if he can hit his stride there for sure.

He's about as useless a plug as you can get in hockey these days. If he hits his stride, his ceiling is the second line in Grand Rapids.

Though there was a time if you couldn't make it in Detroit you couldn't make it anywhere in hockey, though that was under Babcock.

Also Patrick Sharp got moved last night. Went to Dallas, Chicago got Trevor Daley and Ryan Garbutt back.

My wife's cousin lives in Chicago, and his whole family is heartbroken. Saad was his favorite, Sharp his wife's.

I introduced him to the stress reducing phrase "Fuck Dallas". He will use it.

didnt see it so frak off for an eventual mattolad joke

Sami Salo retired today..... he was one of our better Dmen on the CAnucks over his years and injured play. He could have been a really great one IMO if 100% healthy for his career.

he still had a solid career.

Best of luck Sami.
Enjoy your retirement getting hurt every other month in whatever you do!

I always liked salo. What a cannon
The years he was here when the sedins had found their games, 5 on 3s or even 4 on 3s were almost unfair.
The way the twins would draw the defence down to open up his shot was utterly clinical, and utterly beautiful.

Columbus Blue Jackets - CBJ Foundation donates record-setting $850,000 to local and community hockey - Columbus Blue Jackets - News

Last year, the Jackets foundation gave our youth organization enough money and hooked us up with Total Hockey to supply every team from Mini-mite up through squirt with a complete set of goalie equipment, and then ran a camp on our ice over the summer for any kid who wanted to try it.

This year, they are doing the same for two other youth organizations.

It's always tough to find kids to play goal, and we really hated turning away kids who wanted to try because we didn't have good enough gear for them to use. One of the other coaches would go back over the summer to his hometown (outside Toronto) and buy up every piece of used/abused goalie gear he could put his hands on. I never sold off any of my son's gear partly so we could let kids wear it and try out the position. Also, because that crazy ass daughter of mine is a goalie through and through, she just doesn't know it yet. Anyway, we always tried to have stuff around for kids to try. Then the Jackets stepped in and funded a full set of brand new Bauer gear for each team.

And that's just part of it. I have not yet had to pay for coaching certifications, background checks, and USA hockey membership. Been coaching here for 7 years. They are trying to build the girl's hockey program also. They want a girl's team at every age level instead of fielding teams of girls across two or three levels. The girls summer camp in on the other rink from where my son is in his High School hockey prep camp. There were at least 70 girls out there. I know the coach for the 01/02/03 girls team. They are getting a lot of help from the Jackets to help outfit girls who want to try and getting dedicated locker rooms built at each rink.

This is how you build hockey, and I have a hard time seeing this same program working in Vegas...

With all due respect, someone involved in minor hockey in Las Vegas could easily think the same thing about Columbus, Ohio, and they'd obviously be wrong.

Based on? Do you know someone involved with minor hockey in Las Vegas and/or had dealings with their organizations? Personally I don't know the first thing about minor hockey in that area so I have no strong opinions either way.
