Sometimes it takes longer for certain guys to "get it" - Jonathan Drouin is another player who hasn't yet found his junior form at the NHL level.
Not necessarily agreeing with what he's saying, but I find it very odd to hear stuff like that come out of the Red Wings' FO regarding a prospect. Especially one they didn't wanna give up for Phaneuf.

Very true. In days gone by, a certain moustachioed Leaf draft pick took a couple of years to hit his stride.

Unfortunately he won his Cup in Calgary.

take a cue from Jim Benning ... when asked recently about the progress of Nik Jensen and how his season has gone he responded with "he played last night"

Seriously though, there's no benefit to this. GR just turned a 2-0 series deficit against Toronto, as is tradition, and are progressing. Let the kid figure it out. He put up similar numbers to Tomas Tatar in his first year in the A.

Chicago's up 3-0, is it just me or are they looking like the team to beat right now?

If Crawford continues to play goal like he did last night, they're gonna be a tough out.

Going into that draft quite a few Isles fans on their fan site wanted Mantha. I thought going into the draft he was similar to Couturier in one aspect. Big guy playing against smaller guys in the Q. You want to talk about disappointing players look no further than Griffin Reinhart. 4th overall in 2012 & so many players picked behind him have had impacts on their teams. Reinhart could be passed up by Ryan Pulock & Scott Mayfield. Bulking up last offseason was a mistake & he apparently knows this. Lose weight & work on his skating all summer. That's what he needs to do. Whether or not he does it remains to be seen. I don't expect him to be traded yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

I feel like I say this every year but who is in charge of the playoff scheduling? Why are the 2 Eastern Conference teams playing at the same time? Don't give me some BS about venue scheduling or whatever other spin the league will use to justify this stupidity. Somebody needs to be fired for this. Why does this type of thing always seem to happen?

And no games last Saturday night baffeled me.

Unless your team is still playing in the 2nd round of the playoffs, the entertainment quality of these games has not been captivating. Two series could end tonight in sweeps.
