This would be a nice pickup for a lot of teams

Good to see Burkie's up to his old tricks.
Ryan Johansen of Columbus Blue Jackets receives qualifying offer: report - NHL.com - News
Johansen got a qualifying offer from the Jackets, so he can sign any offer sheet he wants, the Jackets can match.
Jackets also qualified; Tropp, Collins, Erixon, Savard, and Golubef. Decision pending on Frattin.
Cap issues in Philly.
Salary cap not friendly to Flyers
Umberger prime candidate for buyout. So the Hartnell trade makes a little more sense. Buyout a 3 year deal instead of a five year one. Someone was going no matter what.
Wait until he signs a big offer sheet with the Isles and the Jackets let him go.
Id imagine it would have to be the big offer for the five 1st rounders. how would you feel about that?

I love Johansen and think he is going to get even better over the next few years. But I have no use for someone who puts themselves before the team. So if he does sign some asinine high dollar / long ass term offer to try and pin the Jackets down, I'd just as soon let him go. I'd rather be bad for a year than stuck with a giant douche for 6.
Same deal as Bob last year. I love the guy. But if he would have signed a deal in the K... good riddance.
Johansen wants 4 years or more. Jackets offered 3. They will get this done. If he just signed the 3 year and produced this coming year and next at the same rate, he's going to get the long term one before he gets to RFA .
Call me crazy, but I don't think BBB is a fan of Brian Burke (lol)
