Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that is Chevy's first trade as GM of the Jets.

1) I just saw the pic of Dater, and has anybody ever looked more like a d-bag in the history of mankind? Cowherd, maybe, but that would be one hell of a contest.

2) Why can't sports folks ever eat their crow? Everybody gets it wrong sometimes, be it factually or being offensive, and the quicker you recognize your error the lighter the shitstorm.

3) As a guy, I can name ten words I would use to characterize the kind of play he was likely referencing before that word would even cross my mind. Like I said, though, coming from that breed it isn't surprising and neither are his defensive tactics.

It's just continually amazing to me that guys like Dater, Haggerty, and Garrioch have jobs. Those first two are so guilty of trolling the internet like adolescent boys, their voices still may crack.

I'll just say that Dater and the Avalanche are a perfect fit and leave it at that. The only redeeming quality of that organization is Joe Sakic.

Valid point.

It's Tokarski time?
The return seems a little underwhelming, but I guess Tangradi is serviceable-ish?
Budaj is UFA next year.

Tangradi was waived earlier this week, and he's not servicable...he's not worth a bag of pucks, let alone two players.

Yeah, I don't get why Montreal gave up two assets (Budaj is a very decent backup and great guy in the room) for a guy that the Jets put on waivers earlier this week. Marc Bergevin is taking a page out of the Jay Feaster playbook.

Ooh shit I read that the wrong way. Thought holland was going the other way. :L
Yeah, that's a head scratcher, unless mtl needed the contract spots (they don't)

A favour to budaj to get him starting role? Still...

Sometimes it has to be forced on them, like a child's brussels sprouts. I haven't seen this priceless exchange posted yet, sorry if I've mattola'ed. It's especially interesting that he doesn't tag Bautista when responding, presumably hoping that he won't find it.

I came close to mentioning this episode, but I figured I would just be putting Simmons' name out there some more and he deserves no time. He is the fucking worst.

Dude, that's a guy who's got 20+ years coaching single A in the GTHL that you're talking about...

FWIW: Dater apologized this morning. Said he should've just went to bed instead of being stupid.

Also, anyone else see Niskanen's shot on Skinner? Ooof. Knowing Skinner's history already, and seeing how he looked coming off the ice...looks rough.

Skinner hit. Forearm/shoulder to the head of a bent over Skinner. Not a horribly egregious hit, but a bit reckless.

Really and to throw in an additional player. I was like do the Canadiens even know who Eric Tangradi is?

I still recall how excited I was about him being thrown into the Whitney-Kunitz trade. I mean, the Pens still won that trade by a country mile, but sure wasn't because of Tangradi. Never seen a guy move so slow...well, not one with his pedigree.

Weird: Pens traded him for a sixth rounder. But yeah, those 10 points in the past 2 years...tempting.

LOL and yeah a career high 3 goals this past season.

As for that deal with Whitney-Kunitz/Tangradi like you I was very excited for him. And honestly thought Kunitz would have been gone by now and Tangradi would be the top 6 power forward they were hoping for. And yeah his speed made Michel Ouellet look like Mike Gartner.
