Jackets sent Rychel to Springfield along with the ever talented FREDERIC ST DENIS. Gibbons on IR, waived Jerry D'Amigo. If he clears, he'll go to Springfield too.

No surprises. Kerby was never going to be on the team out of the gate given who his agent is.

Johansen is apparently stuck in Toronto waiting for his visa to get sorted. Expected to be in Columbus tomorrow in time for practice. If not, will join the team Wednesday in Buffalo. He should be in the lineup Thursday night against the Sabres.

I liked Ryan Carter a lot. He's pretty much everything you could ask for out of a 4th liner. He goes 100% all the time, plays pretty solid 2 way hockey, he won't be a liability out there. Solid player, wish him the best.

Nice. I had the chance to grab Nyquist right when my wifi decided to go haywire and I wound up with Giordano because he was at the top of my queue. Not the worst consolation prize, but I think Nyquist is out to prove something. I had Datsyuk, too, so I missed out on that combo.

Schiefele was left hanging late and I think that's a steal, too.

Really though: I'm putting money on Griess stealing his job this year. Also, the last time he had these bright pads, he ditched them because some eye doctor told him it was easier for opposing players to pick spots on...sooooo?
