Luongo made a couple of great saves in OT prior to Sid's golden goal. Do you guys just conveniently forget these things? I mean, it doesn't matter that much in the grand scheme. Truth be told, Sid's golden goal was pretty weak and Sid's overall tourney wasn't all that good in 2010.

Let me put it this way. I actually dozed off a couple of times during the game. That's how good Canada's D was. I really didn't expect the U.S. to tie it up.

Besides we all know who you really want to give the credit to on Sid's goal. Just say it. It's okay.:D:

That's just because of the hype. It should have gone to MAF.

Funny, but that's gonna go right over-

Yup.

Lou was solid and a huge factor in more than one game on that run. My only worry about him is that he's got a lot of external influences and I wonder if his head is really in the right place. I worry about the "My contract sucks" stuff and his Twitter weirdness. But that could be normal for him. He could be completely in the right mindset. :noidea:

dont forget that massive save vs Slovakia (RIP Demitra) but none of this matters to Luongo haters. Never will. He was a MASSIVE part of the TEAM... the TEAM...

I think his head is there even more this time. He has way more to prove both for what happened last year and all his detractors. I think his mind is set. He is the main reason why I think the Canucks are not bottom dwelling this year with a healthy nod to Lack for some of his performances. I think Luongo has been quite strong mentally with the way this Season and Last has gone

lol - Actually, the ref would got in the way of the clearing pass along the boards deserves a lot of credit as well, I know it still chafes Ron Wilson's ass to this very day.

Like I said, I don't know what's "normal" for him. It seems to me that sarcasm and snippiness could be a natural reaction to dealing with a situation you can't stand. But if that's just him... He's really only been on the Twitters for a short time :D

The few games I've watched him this year he seems on top of his game.

I never said Luongo didn't play well during the tournament. I said the Defense in front of him was the reason why they won the Gold Medal.

I just hope Canada can score enough goals that all they will need is good goaltending and not great goaltending. I look at the offensive talent on the team and goal scoring shouldn't be a problem. But then I look at the goalies that the US and Sweden can choose from and that's what causes me concern.

You must have not looked at the U.S. defense. The bigger ice surface concerns me, especially whenever Orpik is on the ice.

Sid's shot was superb, Sid did fine in 2010. This isn't Nedved we're talking about here.

The last time Canada lost was 2006 right? All I remember is seeing Gretzky cry. It put a smile on my face. I don't know why, but it did.:D:

Probably has something to do with the early 1980s I'm guessing.

I look back at the 2006 roster and it makes me cry - Way too old and way too slow. I think Stevie Y did a pretty good job with this year's roster, but only time will tell.

Moving away from the Olympics, I went with Rask because of all the guys on this list, he strikes me as the best combination of size, positioning, reflexes, athleticism, and consistency. It took a lot of thinking between him and Quick, though.
