Canada runs into penalty trouble and the Finns tie it up on a 5-on-3 PP. Granlund got an assist on the goal.

Justin ‏@jtbourne
Good for the US, making final cuts on Christmas Eve, tossing kids on a plane from Russia to think about it the whole way home. Swell!

and I thought having tsn stick a mic in the cdn cuts faces immediately after was bad!!!???

Haven't seen too much of Ritchie in this game, speculation is he may be injured and it might be serious (serious enough for Canada to call in a replacement player).

Not exactly glowing reviews for Malcolm Subban's play between the pipes for Canada today.

dutchysc: Very pedestrian performance by the Canadian team and more questions in goal.

It's a little concerning when you think that of the two best goalies at the camp in Calgary, one was cut and the other is currently 3rd on the depth chart.

tsnjamesduthie: Pretty sluggish undisciplined start for Canada. 3-2 loss to Finland. 11 penalties. Only a pre-tourney game. No rioting or looting pls.

I'm watching you Vancouver.

markhmasters: Spott says Ritchie's injury isn't serious; held out as a precaution after an awkward collision.

Good news!

Canucks "lent" Hockey Canada the sleep doctor ... the kids on the team are calling it an "epic fail"

For those scoring at home, USA leads Sweden 2-1 in the 2nd period. That American-Russian-Canadian Galchenyuk looking good in today's game.

Once we get into the actual WJHC tourney, we should probably have actual GDT (remember those) for the key games. I don't think the pre-tournament games warrant their own threads.

Swedes tie it up - Looks like Flames D prospect Seiloff partially screened Flames G prospect Gilles on the goal. D'oh!
