Alexander Semak, coach of Ufa's Tolpar, says Mikhail Grigorenko is 2 years older than any other team #Russia U20 player

“Who is he? A coach? Of what club? Tolpar? Never heard of such!” Russian forward Mikhail Grigorenko told Sportbox.ru when asked about Semak’s accusations.

“It seems that the man just didn’t get the job he wanted and he’s now happy that we’ve lost,” he added. “It’s sad to read such nastiness in the media. Nail Yakupov is bad. Mikhail Grigorenko is bad. The hockey is bad. I don’t know what game he was watching. All the guys are giving everything on the ice and can’t be blamed.”

they floated it around yesterday on the radio ... is it time for a full time hockey canada coach to handle the under 20's (and below age groups) ????

I don't know if we need to go down that road (full-time coach), but why have a sham of a selection camp in early December if the player decisions (80-85% of them) have already been made? Frank Corrado played his guts out throughout camp and is rewarded by getting cut? Brossoit took his team to a Memorial Cup last year and played well at selection camp, yet gets cut?

How about we take the 23 players who are playing the best right now instead of looking at career junior accomplishments and how high they went in the NHL draft?

I hear you but when there are vested interests involved (is Steve Spott was gonna cut his own player Murphy and risk losing him mentally when he got back to the O???) youre gonna keep having issues with player selection

Yeah, it is an issue, although some kids will use that as motivation to get better to prove the coach wrong.

/Canada just picked the wrong game to come out flatter than a pancake, they looked waffle yesterday.

Are Johnny Gaudreau and Johnny Manziel related to one another?

Just curious.

I don't think so, but I'm just glad the Flames drafted the right Johnny.

/If you look at Flames drafting history, it isn't a laughing matter.

No love for Yakupov (who knew Dash controlled all the coaches in the tourney :heh:).

lol - Yakupov reminds me of a young Dany Heatley, Kenny, when he's on, he's a sniper who needs to be introduced to his goalie at the end of a game.

the actual appeal is in front of a different committee next month, isn't it?

Yes, I think that is correct, although I think it will only be for show. There will be no change to Reinhart's suspension.
