OK can we examine this Dan Beebe quote a little closer???

So basically he's admitting he has wayyyy too much power. He's saying he can sway any game he really wanted to. So he's admitting it's actually possible that he swayed the outcome of the '09 Big 12 championship.. Easily. He's admitting that he could have snapped a finger and A&M would beat a much better Nebraska team.

That's my spin. Chew on that for a bit.

To be completely honest, do I believe there is a conspiracy against us? No I don't. If it came out in the future that there was would I be surprised? Not at all.

It is just that certain things have happened and certain things have been said, like the above quote, that makes you think for a second about a conspiracy. Wouldn't a smart man say how difficult it would be to fix games?

Does Beebe have any idea how badly he is going to get booed when he hands us the trophy next week? It will be like how we booed Steve Pederson during in 2006 and 2007.

With that being said, there is no doubt in my mind that Beebe ABSOLUTELY told his officiating crews to keep an eye on Nebraska players this year because they play dirty. The problem is these officiating crews have gotten to the point where they spend so much time focusing on our "dirty" players (Courtney Osborne and Eric Martin, etc) that they don't pay any attention to the teams we are playing.

This has been something that has been brewing up over the course of Bo's 3 years here..........it's much harder to see in year 1 and year 2, but the numbers don't lie. These last 2 years in the Big 12 our conference opponents have had the least amount of penalties by far compared to everyone elses conference opponents in the Big 12.

A&M was just a great example...........one of the most penalized teams in the country. They had 2 against us.........pretty easy to see the attention was all placed on Nebraska that game.

It is a constant problem that has not been fixed for some reason. False starts, illegal formation, and so on. Those are easy calls for the refs and can not be blamed on the refs for those. Obviously there was a handful of bad calls but most of them were on us.

Absolutely, but I am referring more to the 7 or 8 personal fouls or whatever it ended up being. We didn't even see what Eric Martin did, and after the game Bo said all he saw him do was hit a guy during play like he usually does.

Courtney Osborne had 2 personal fouls and Eric Martin had 2 personal fouls.........I'm not buyin that. Especially the roughing the passer which we were able to see on tv.

Anyways, my point is that this crew is keying in on Nebraska and not focusing on the opponent we are playing. I saw blatant holds on several A&M plays that were never called. It's one thing to be a penalized team, but it's another thing to be the team who's opponents never get any penalties called on them.

As I said over on the main board, all this is turning into now is Nebraska trying to make the Big 12 look bad and the Big 12 trying to make Nebraska look bad. Because both are trying to save their image.

As I said in that other thread on the main board, if that really did happen then that phone call will be traced and someone will be charged and we will all hear about it. But I'm gonna guarantee you right now...........we aren't going to hear shit, because it never happened.

It was made up to make Nebraska look like a bunch of crazy people, because that then gives Nebraska fans zero credibility when they make the claim that the officiating hasn't been fair and blah blah blah

I don't doubt that he received messages like that. Phone calls aren't as easy to trace anymore as I can use the internet, track phone, even pay phones (they still do exist) to make the call --- NOT saying that I called Beebe (I didn't - I wouldn't waste my breath nor would I was my finger muscles to send an email). I know many of the old regime at Nebraska received threatening phone calls and emails very similar to that so it does happen.

I think the point is Beebe is supposed to be the mature person in the situation. It's about rewarding a team of kids. There is such a thing as security escort if need be and I'm sure NU would have footed the bill. I think he's using the email/phone call shit as an excuse to detract from his true bad taste for Nebraska.

Here say this, "Even if I or anyone in the Conference offices wanted to, our referees are the most professional and proficient in the country. Not that I have any wisdom on this subject...

But; Beebe, possibly he is/was a little worried about organized crime being a little pissed that such and outcome could be manipulated.

Now I am not saying that this is the issue... but what were the points in that game and how many millions were bet one way or the other?

I do not think the worry would be from husker fans... but you never know who's pocket he may have picked by allowing bias officiating help determine the outcome!
