Well this has some surprising 2013 budget implications:

So we are apparently willing to shell out another $7.5 million or so for Ichiro. And apparently this is after we already agreed with Towers. Interesting.

Cody Ross, anybody? 1.010 OPS against LHP in 2012, with 12 HR in 150 AB.

I think this rumor is bogus. I can't see 15/2 for a 38 year old guy who is now below league average as a hitter. I know he's Ichiro and all, but he hasn't been particularly effective since 2010. I call BS on Feinsand, or the agent who gave him that bogus info.

I guess it would come down to faith and whether you believe Timmy will rebound, is stagnant or declining - I pull the trigger for the last two for sure.

I've got faith in Timmy, and Brown in a couple years. We don't need Bourjos this year and Brown will hopefully be ready by 2014. And if he's not, Pence is either coming off the books giving flexibility or he performed well enough to earn a big contract.
