I like both of these ideas depending on price. I think Melky's contract means Angel gets at least 3/$26.

Just heard an expert on KNBR say that he was pretty sure Oxy was going to re-sign with the Gs at "about $9MM a year for three years."

Same guy thought Oxy would take one less year to stay in SF instead of 4 years elsewhere.

As of what's left right now, I'd like this.

Assuming we sign Pagan, I'd like to see the Giants also sign Jonny Gomes and have him platoon with Blanco: Blanco/Gomes-Pagan-Pence

Assuming we can't sign Pagan, I wouldn't mind signing Ichiro and trading for somebody like Span.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Giants sign a big homer hitter and treat him like Burrell in 2010. Bring in Blanco after the 7th for D....

Looking at the list though, there isn't much out there.

Before the Under Pants trade, I may have considered renting him for 2012.

A year later, with the trophy, with Blanco coming on, in a word:

No. Bad value.

Kruk had some story about a neighborhood kid saying something like "We got Under Pants!" But I don't think it caught on around here. I could see a whole section of people wearing tighty-whiteys in the future...

I'm ok with the same OF that won us a WS. I think we'll see an uptick from Hunter on the offensive end. But we do need someone else...
