I would have like to see Hunter in SF, but not at that kind of scratch. I think he will do well in MoTown, but I think the Tiggers overpaid.

The Blue Jays have agreed to sign Melky Cabrera to a two-year, $16MM contract, Enrique Rojas of ESPNdeportes.com reports. ACES represents Cabrera, who must pass a physical for the deal to be completed.

They've talked about him there before, when Bautista was at 3rd. I guess Bonafacio might play 2nd and Bautista would stick in RF.

I wonder if Joe Blanton might be a good person to take a flier on. He's a fly ball pitcher (who could be helped by our park) who throws strikes and with the Giants defense on the infield (and however the OF might shape up) he may be a good backup glue guy between the rotation and the pen (or good insurance in case one of the starters goes down). I have no idea what Blanton is looking for salary wise, but if it's reasonable, I wouldn't mind him coming up to SF.

As for CF, hopefully Pagan is back, but if he's too expensive, would it be a good idea to trade for somebody like Denard Span? I know his star has fallen a little bit, but that usually means his asking price has as well.

Bautista injured a wrist tendon though, didn't he? Seems like that has ended the effective careers of a few players, or, at the very least, taken a year or more to come back from.

I like both of these ideas depending on price. I think Melky's contract means Angel gets at least 3/$26.
