There was no thread for the Blue Jays series, but someone has to give it up for Wolf yesterday, he may have got the loss but he SAVED our bullpen almost singlehandedly, a victory would've been nice, but I had to give Wolf some props

Did you hear or see that two pitchers, Kirkman and Ogando, went on the DL today. Kirkman's cancer has flared up and Ogando has shoulder soreness. I'm betting that Ogando's days as a starter are about to end.

It sure doesn't look like ogando can stay healthy as a starter. That hurts because he's been good for us. As for Kirkman, I think he's seen his last day in our pen this year. Thank god. Perez is gonna have to come up and step up.

Good win today, Grimm toughed it out after a rough inning and the offense showed a little life today to come back

Nathan was able to buckle down and get the save

Thank God that error did not come back to bite us. Btw I heard one of the Blue Jay announcers saying he thought Elvis could be a homerun hitter. Not sure what he is seeing but it was amusing to hear

This was a very good win and have to admit I was ready to bail out on the team when we were down 4-0, but forced myself to hang in there. Grimm had the one bad inning but was solid otherwise. Bullpen was solid. McGuiness looked good at the plate along with Cruz and Beltre. Like you said they fought back and that makes the win feel even better

It's ironic that Ogando is going back on the DL since his last time out he looked as good as he has in a while. It was time for Kirkman to be replaced but the big C is not the way I wanted to see it happen. Hope he makes it through his treatment OK.

I'm betting you don't see much of Matt Harrison this year while he recupes that back but I'm guessing they'll baby Lewis along in AAA/AA rehab starts as long as they can while he builds him arm strength back up

if they dont come back are we just not trying to win the WS this year?

I can agree about Lewis, but Harrison is a tricky proposition

If they don't come back, then there's no point in throwing prospects at marginal upgrades, do what you can, get the young guys some experience and see if you can push for a playoff berth, despite all the injuries we're still 1/2 a game up and have the 2nd best record in the AL

i wouldn't call Price a marginal upgrade irregardless of his present record, but anyone other than him would be a waste
