Guy could be Barry Sanders but it's still an irrelevant pick for the next 3+ years. Marshawn Lynch is the starter. Robert Turbin is an excellent 2nd stringer. Seahawks don't give their 3rd string runningback many reps and I don't expect that to change seeing as how Christine Michael has a similar play style to Turbin and Lynch.

Here's the point: you always need 2 RBs that are more than just some dude with a number. You need guys that can make plays. Turbin is a quality #2, but he's unlikely to ever be a player that teams have to game plan against (like Lynch). Michael has the potential to be a dangerous #1 down the road if he pans out - that is something that usually don't find in the 5th or 6th.

Michael will not get any playing time anytime soon so what does it matter? Once Lynch slows down and moves on, Turbin will be his replacement. With Turbin's age I don't see him going anywhere anytime soon. So at best Christine Michael is a future 2nd string player.

The Seahawks have drafted some good players but that does not mean they are immune to criticism. Their first selection the past two years have been mediocre and in James Carpenter's case utterly terrible and I don't see how Christine Michael changes that.

One thing that sticks out to me is that he is injury prone. Injuries + runningback is never a good thing. I don't like this pick at all.

I'll definitely be interested to see how the carries are split between Lynch, Turbin and Michael next season. Last year I thought Lynch was counted on too much and kind of wore down at the end of the year, hence being plagued by fumbles in the playoffs. Anything that helps take the load off of Lynch is a good thing, IMO.

Things that stand out to me about Christine Michael:

-Huge injury problems
-Huge character concerns (slept through combine interviews)
-Never rushed for more than 900 yards in a season
-Very similar player to Robert Turbin and Marshawn Lynch

For me unless this guy can beat out Lynch, it's a poor pick. You don't use your first pick in the draft to beat out the back up, who by the way is pretty good.

Truthfully I didn't even bother to scout running backs. I figured the chances were slim and none.

Hope this guy is the real deal. This pick is testing my faith.

Well the cards draft the honey badger. Good luck with that. Could be a good pick but dang I don't think I'd risk a second pick on him, maybe a 4th or 5th.

If this was 2010 I'd probably be all over them for this pick. But they have proven themselves right so many times that I'll wait and see what this leads to. Who knows why they took him, but I hope he turns out to be a good choice.

The Seahawks have failed on their first selections the past two years. The Seahawks find their players in the later rounds typically.

On his interview, he just said the player he is most like is: "Marshawn Lynch".

WizardHawk, just because they have made good selections in the later rounds does not mean they are suddenly immune to criticism. The pick was a waste and there is no way around that. The Seahawks have had some really stupid decisions with their first selections between James Carpenter and Bruce Irvin, I don't see why they would select a 3rd string RB.

Once again they're going to have to find some gems in the later rounds to make up for this.

We have to remember that PC llikes guys with something to prove. Maybe they feel Michael is that kind of guy. Also Lynch had nagging injuries off and on and hurt his foot in the playoffs I think. With Turbin and Michael behind him, I am ok with that.

Ok guys, i am not liking the lack of faith. to be honest, i dont understand this pick much either, but you huys know JS and PC. They are great "drafters" for lack of a better word. i think there was a method to their madness, maybe a special teamer or something? after all, the less percy is needed for ST, the better.

Have to admit, watching the way things come off of the board - there haven't been any players that I'm upset about passing on yet.

I still really want Quessenberry...be cool if Patton is still there, as well.

Barkley is going nowhere.

Shocked at Matt Barkley falling. I think he has a great career ahead of him and having watched all of the QBs in this draft I personally think there is no doubt Matt Barkley is the best. If not for his mediocre W/L his senior year (which can be attributed to Lane idiot Kiffin) he would have been a top 5 pick.
