Round 2, Pick No. 46: CB, Emmanuel Forbes, Mississippi State​

This is an excellent pick if he lasts and it's a position of need. Again a guy that faced elite talent. He may last to round two I have seen him there in a few mocks.

Only 78 more days until the draft. Think this will continue in it's exact order? My guess?? Someone will make sure that a prospect is named if we get to 6 PM and required someone hasn't given us a name. Just the nature of the beast.

There has to be a N'Keal Harry II out there waiting to be recognized.

Man I like his size and speed, and it seems that he made the best of what he could in his senior year, by far his best year. I assume this is round one pick with #`14? Due to depth in the draft this year not sure the Pats will take a CB but it's surely a position of need.

Sorry, I should’ve been clearer. I actually think he might be available in round two as there’s other CB’s rated above him. I think this would be a steal in the 2nd round and he might actually be there.

How are his ball skills? Change of direction?

Yeah we discussed this the other day. IMO if we do not address OT in FA then we need to addres it if Skoronski, Johnson or Jones are not there at 14 which way do we go? Some like me want a WR others a CB and others a TE. A lot depends on FA

WR scares me. Their performance is not as predictable as OT or TE.
I don't believe more than 1 or 2 TE's go in the 1st round. No OT or TE? I'd go defensive back - safety or CB - whichever lands there at 14. If we don't get either stud TE or OT at 14, I'd consider trading down - lot of good TE's or CB's available in 2nd round.....

Wow! I will admit to being pretty ignorant to college players but I specifically chose him because I figured we'd grab an O line player with our first pick and then maybe sneak up a bit in the 2nd round and grab this dude because I thought he'd be available in the early 2nd.

Now I'm very much intrigued to see where he goes.

There are at least 5 CB's that could go in 1st or drop to 2nd. It will be an interesting draft.
If you mock the 1st round, there will be a bunch of EDGE picks, a few QB's and WR's picked.
You will see 1st round quality landing in 2nd by default!

All the mock drafts disagree. When you look at the mocks on CB, even the best picks have pro's and con's.....

Gonzalez has everything you could want from a top cornerback — size, speed, length, hips and ball skills. He enjoyed a breakout 2022 season after transferring to Oregon, tallying four interceptions and six pass breakups.
