Sooooo, how are they going to handle the Soviet era while recapping their history in performance? This should be interesting, considering all the former Soviet Republics in attendance.
I'll just drop this here I guess - Dreger says this is the last Olympics that the NHL will allow its players to compete in. I think this announcement could have waited until after the Sochi Games were over (poor form by Dreger in my opinion).

Regardless this is the right move for the NHL - I'm glad people like Ed Snider have spoken out on it
Neat opening ceremonies. I liked the inflatable orthodox buildings they had - that was pretty cool.
I was a little disappoint that Putin gave his address just by standing. I expected him to be standing on two golden horses, shirtless during his entrance. Haha.
Had to cut if off early though, because I have like 138 Facebook movies I have to watch.
Then you missed the part where Putin tore off his shirt, bent over the Olympic Torch and lit it with a massive fart?
If your gaydar is broken and you find yourself unfortunately watching mens figure skating i got a tip for u
The dude that the announcers say "has strong technique and jumping ability but falls short on artistic merit and flair" is usually the straight guy
I really, really enjoyed that ceremony. I love Russian history very much.
I don't know if somebody already pointed this out but I wood every single one of those female slope style skiers. There seemed to be one hottie after another!
