exactly. You have to be 100% sure and have played out all scenarios before you say "ok everything is ok now" if not youre putting a lot of lifes @ risk.

The only thing I've read is that it was a "four year veteran". They aren't releasing the name yet.

Sounds like someone was doing that today too... I heard a woman with "possible alcohol poisoning" on the blotter a few hours ago.

They were concerned about a 2nd suspect from what I heard....Praying for everyone up there.

No matter what the cops did, not everyone will be happy. Better safe then sorry.

BTW i heard the shooter wasnt the driver of the car that was pulled over and that this person just walked up and shot the cop while he had the car pulled over. Is that true? if so why?

"Shootings on campus killed a Virginia Tech Police officer and one other person Thursday.

Officials said in a press conference a man shot the officer in the Coliseum parking lot while the officer was making a traffic stop on an unrelated car. The suspect then fled on foot past McComas Hall and toward the cage parking lot near the Duck Pond.

Officers then sighted a suspicious man in the lot. When they moved closer and attempted to make contact with the man, they found him dead. A weapon was found at that scene.

Neither victim has been identified at this time.

The university community was notified of the first shooting within 10 minutes of receiving the 911 call. Many students and faculty members were on lockdown on campus for hours Thursday. After investigating many potential sightings of suspects across campus, the university lifted the alert at about 4:30. Officials at the press conference declared campus safe."
