That's a change from the park effects the last couple of years as I recall.

2014 was a very down year, obviously injuries played a hand in that. 2015 they were 7th in the AL and just a tick above the league average. So yeah, pretty neutral that year.

No telling where he will land and don't think it will be with us. JD keeps bringing up Gallo but sounds like a smoke screen. Darvish and Lucroy have to be signed before anything big will happen.
I think bringing up Gallo could maybe be more than a smoke screen when it is in relation to signing someone to a multi year contract to play 1B. Even if Gallo is thought to be a half of a year or a full year away he is an alternative to all but a few months of any multi year deal for a first baseman.

What I hope is that they really don't plan on playing Profar at 1B on anything more than an emergency basis. They really need to address the 500 lb. Gorilla and tell Odor he is being moved to another position unless they intend on trading one of them.

Looks like one of my favorite ex-Rangers, Joaquin Benoit, is about to sign with Philly.

I think Gallo maybe more than a year away. He threw a hissy fit last year when thought he should be in the major leagues and not at AAA. The Rangers ended sitting him for awhile. He sure proved himself wrong. If he has an attitude problem, somebody needs to get that straightened out.

A hissy fit? When was that?

We have Rua who can play first without bringing up Gallo. As for Profar, play or trade which might mean moving or trading Odor. Options are out there and that's were JD comes in and pulls a hat trick. Imo Gallo should not see Globe until he has proven himself.

The Rangers have two star-caliber players entering contract years in ace Yu Darvish and catcher Jonathan Lucroy, but the team is unlikely to discuss extensions with either during the winter meetings, according to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News (Twitter link). For now, the reigning AL West champions’ focus is on making outside acquisitions. The Rangers could certainly turn their attention to new deals for Darvish and Lucroy later in the offseason.

Even though Joe Nathan turned 42 last month, the free agent reliever plans to continue his career and is drawing interest from clubs, tweets Heyman. Nathan, who’s eighth on the all-time saves list (377), returned from 2015 Tommy John surgery to throw a combined 6 1/3 scoreless innings with the Cubs and Giants last season.

Rumblings: Fowler, Jays, Cards, Astros, Rangers, Nathan, Salty

No to Salty and Joe. Wrong direction.

Arlington is pretty neutral since they opened up the area behind home plate. I'm amazed how even the expert analysts haven't caught up to this yet.

It's been tied for 6th, 5th in 7th in park factor for runs the last 3 years. All well above 1.00

We'll probably more valuable to Astros than Rangers nut was unimpressed with Beltran postseason and he is not getting any younger. Also that short porch In NY had to help. We need Choo likely at DH.

Have to think part of my response is just haterism but two spots? Come on

As compared to a team platooning or needing to platoon a guy at a position.

Don't believe we have the tools to get him.
We have dug ourselves a deep hole. Desmond Gomez Darvish and Lucroy will cost more than the budget wiil allow. So how do we get out of the hole? Not much in prospects without help from veterans like Beltre or Odor. Just thinking out loud.

You don't think Profar's value is a lot higher than this time last year?

A lot higher. No....Probably higher though.

But he didn't have an exceptional year in the field, and was exposed as a hitter from only one side of the plate. The last month of the year he did himself or us no favors.

What I was really referencing was how high his value was a few years ago before his injuries.

I've felt for some time now moving Odor to LF and Profar to 2nd makes us a much better defensive team.

I have to be honest, I thought Profar got a lot of run for a guy who didn't have explosive tools.

I like him at 2B, although it sounds like he still needed to trim up his body a bit if he wanted to stay a MIF.

But Odor in LF is an interesting idea.

I agree with those of you saying to DH choo, maybe add a cheap RH to DH part time there like Plouffe (but again, this was the "2 roster spot" value of Beltran that I was talking about earlier). @Kelleyman does this clear that up?
