The Chargers are adding a former NFL lineman, as they restock their coaching staff.

According to Field Yates of ESPN.com, the Chargers are hiring David Diaz-Infante as an assistant offensive line coach.

The 55-year-old Diaz-Infante spent the last four years on the Jets’ staff. The Chargers lost veteran line coach Pat Meyer to the Panthers.

Diaz-Infante played for the Chargers during the 1987 players strike, and after a long search for employment that led him through Germany, a CFL team which played in California, and the XFL, he played 66 more games for the Broncos and Eagles.

Well good luck to him. Might not be any OL in football with worst talent than the Chargers right now. It is why I still can't understand the Brady to the Chargers talk. I know the whole he is from California and them wanting to sell tickets but I would need that $40 million a year contract fully guaranteed to even think about it as going to need that much just to fix my body after one season behind that group.

Entering his third year in the NFL, Morris' playing time with the Broncos was the first he's received as a pro. He's a squatty, strong, athletic player at the center position who could be tasked with snapping the ball to Drew Lock for the foreseeable future.

His contract is extremely favorable to the Broncos with a salary of $585,000 in 2020 and exclusive free agent rights in 2021. If the Broncos and Morris get that far, he would then be a restricted free agent in 2022 and would not hit unrestricted free agency until 2023.

In that regard, he's sort of the ideal option if it works, because the Broncos would get a starting center for pennies on the dollar.

He is such a cool guy. Had him on our show and really just such a nice guy. He is dating a girl from the area where I am at but haven't seen him out here in Western Kansas yet.

Western Kansas is definitely the country. I thought Idaho was the country ...

I wish the Draft was first. FA should be last!

Would be interesting to see how that would change how teams handle team building. I still like the way they have it but if they changed it up just changes that teams can truly go best player available then fill out the holes still left in FA.

If the draft was first and FA second it may lead to teams resigning some of their own FAs more.

I do like the idea of the draft first and FA second.

This would also help over analysis.
Teams have way too much time to over analyze the draft picks

Byron Jones is gonna get a nice contract. IMO the most underrated CB in the NFL. Lucky for us Dallas had a huge amount of FA’s the last two offseason they had to fork a lot of money out. Jones didn’t have as good of a year last year as he did the two previous but I’d put him in my top 10 CB’s in the NFL. Two years ago id have probably put him in top 5.

sadly, I am not expecting to sign him but I would be happy if we did.

Justin Simmons contract will be interesting. I think one way or another we get him locked here long term. Could mean one year under the franchise tag but a long term deal will get done eventually. Denver will likely open up contract talks with him after the senior bowl.

I’d rather keep FA before the draft. Makes more sense to me that way but I often do wonder how different it would be. But better to know what you will have going into the draft then not knowing what you can have during the FA and trying to predict. But it would be a twist with the challenege of swapping the two.

IMO Draft first then you know if you need to fill holes or not during FA alao it would force you to take the best player in the Draft.

I don't like FA first most because You buy a Center then in Draft one comes to you and you already bought one.

I am sure the NFLPA would not go for swapping the 2 around as it may not benefit the vets.
